Since my last posting, which was quite a while ago, I have been working with Weld Re-1's Google Domain. I have sent a few emails about student and teacher accounts. I have worked with a number of classes to get students logged in. In these classes we set up folders so teachers and students can share assignments, notes, and homework. There are a number of teachers collaborating on lesson plans using Google Docs.
I know a lot of "latest and greatest" tools have been thrown around. There may be a reluctance to adopt yet another system. You may have had some negative experiences with Google Docs in the past. I understand. The reality is we are just scratching the surface in understanding the capacity for which we can use this tool. However, the possibilities that have arisen so far are compelling. With Google I know we can save the district some money. I know we can integrate technology more easily. I know we can increase collaboration and save time. I know we can utilize the students abilities. We can also lessen the burden of documentation that will be placed on teachers under the new Colorado teacher evaluation system.
I have recently created four videos/tutorials and embedded them on my home page. I am including links to them here as well. Hopefully, they should help students and teachers understand how to begin using Weld-Re1's Google Domain...
